Monstera Thai Constellation

By Chanel

Easy care guide

The Monstera Thai Constellation is loved for its beautiful creamy variegation and striking leaves. It’s slower growing than a standard Monstera, but with the right care it can become a stunning statement plant.

Light

This plant does best in bright, indirect light. Because of its variegation, it has less chlorophyll than a fully green Monstera, so it benefits from a brighter spot to help support healthy growth.

Avoid harsh direct sun for long periods, especially in the middle of the day, as this can scorch the lighter parts of the leaves.

Watering

Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. It prefers lightly moist soil, but it does not like sitting in soggy compost.

When watering, let excess water drain away fully. If in doubt, it’s better to let it dry slightly than to overwater.

Humidity

Monstera Thai Constellation enjoys moderate to higher humidity, although it can still do well in a typical home environment. If your home is very dry, a little extra humidity can help keep the foliage looking its best.

Soil

Use a chunky, airy, well-draining potting mix. A good aroid mix helps the roots get airflow and reduces the risk of overwatering. A mix with bark, perlite, and houseplant compost works well.

Temperature

Keep your plant somewhere warm, ideally away from cold drafts. It prefers typical indoor temperatures and does not like sudden drops in temperature.

Feeding

Feed during the active growing season in spring and summer with a balanced houseplant feed. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows down.

Support

As it matures, this plant appreciates a moss pole or plant support. Giving it something to climb can encourage larger, more mature leaves over time.

Growth habit

Thai Constellation is often a slower grower, so patience is key. Good light and consistent care will make a big difference.

Common issues

Yellowing leaves can be a sign of overwatering.
Brown crispy edges may point to dry air or inconsistent watering.
Leggy growth usually means it needs more light.

Important note

This plant is not pet safe, so keep it out of reach of curious pets and small children.
